About Three Ponds Protective Association
Preserve, Improve, Enjoy – Ensuring a Healthy Future
Three Ponds Protective Association (TPPA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created and sustained by volunteers. Our mission is to preserve and improve water quality and promote sound land-use practices in and around the Three Ponds and watershed areas.
Northeast Pond, Depot (Milton) Pond, and Townhouse Pond are contiguous bodies of water that cover over 1000 acres and form the border between Lebanon, Maine and Milton, New Hampshire.
The Ponds are currently in a vulnerable position due to heavy usage, declining water quality, invasive species, cyanobacteria blooms, and climate change.
Our approach to maintaining water quality is multi-faceted. It includes supporting boat inspections, water quality testing, removal of invasive species, educational programs, and serving as a resource to lake residents, community organizations and Town Boards. See how we do it.
We have developed strong working relationships with leadership in Milton, NH and Lebanon, ME, the NH Department of Environmental Services, and Maine’s Department of Environmental Protection, all of which support our various efforts. TPPA also collaborates with the University of New Hampshire’s Lakes Lay Monitoring Program.
